About Country Plants

Country Plants is a plant nursery in Santa Monica, California. It is listed at 101 Chautauqua Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90402, which places it among the local businesses of Santa Monica that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In Santa Monica, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 10 am–7 pm. Note that it does not open on Tuesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Country Plants at (310) 454-1222; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 38 reviews, which is a strong result for a plant nursery in Santa Monica and suggests consistent service.

AMAZING PLANT SHOP! 37 years strong! Yoon is SO knowledgeable and fantastic! He helped me complete my hanging plant wall and showed me a couple other plants I may be interested in (which of course, I was!). He even helped me figure out an extension hook for one of my hanging plants. As I was leaving, he ran out to give me a few (delicious!) tangerines from his tree. What an amazing guy who really cares about plants and his customers. I’ll be back for ALL THE THINGS plant related! Thank you, Yoon!

We bought few beautiful pieces here for our home, huge variety of outdoor and indoor plants! This place has magic atmosphere for photo shoots if you were looking. This store lost a lot of clients from neighborhood after Palisades fire. You can come to take pictures and buy plants and support local business!

Very knowledgeable and Hoon is such a pleasure to be attended by. The only nursary left after the Palisades Fire, I hope the community continue to support Country Plants - a treasure to the PCH.

I LOVE this nursery, it is conveniently located on the coast close to Will Rogers State Beach, just north of Santa Monica Pier. Beautiful indoor and outdoor plants of all sizes all placed and displayed in a very tropical and natural way, you feel you are in a tropical rainforest! The staff is extremely friendly and allow you to walk-through, browse, and take pictures. This is a must-visit if you are a plant-lover, a local, or a tourist wanting a luscious experience.

An undiscovered little oasis tucked into a nook on the PCH. The orchids and house plants inside are thriving and beautiful and the succulents, gardenias, bougainvillea, Spanish moss, agave, aloe, Jade, air plants, and citrus trees outside are very well loved and well cared for. A gem of a place run by a very kind man who has been running it for thirty years.
